Information before you go
The Cafe Smorgas Sandwich Lounge is perfectly located under two huge trees at Jalan Danau Tamblingan. Their tree shaded terrace is an ideal spot to start the day or just to relax from the afternoon heat.
The friendly staff will immediately help you with your order and there is even reading material available including a large selection of magazines on Bali lifestyle and real estate.
This cafe is owned by a Swedish family and Smorgas means sandwich in Swedish. So as you can expect their menu shows a large range of sandwiches all made with homemade bread.
The little cafe at one of Sanur's main streets
On top of that it's a perfect place to go to for salads, cakes (such as the Swedish Apple tart), pastry ,coffee and juices. On the notice board the café promotes their hot meals such as quiche.
They also claim to have the best lasagna in town. Well you have to go and judge that your self.
We've been here a couple of times and have always ordered a drink and a delicious piece of cake.
In the afternoon it can get pretty busy
The coffee tastes as it should be, it’s not instant but freshly brewed from the espresso machine.
My girlfriend usually goes for the healthy mix juices in the hope that after a drink she will feel refreshed and energized or fully detoxed.
Whether or not that happens...the combination of juices with a twist of ginger, honey and more seems to suit her. She has almost tried all the juices on the menu and still can’t decide what her favorite is.
Besides eating in, you can also buy all kinds of delicious things from their deli such as different types of ham and salami, cake, bread and jams.
Don't be surprised if this deli has products that taste better than home...

When I wrote the mail I never really expected a reply. I might have expected a computer generated but never a personally written one. The information you provided is invaluable, thank you so very much. I have been using your website as a bible through Bali. Through your recommendation, I will be heading to Ubud then follow the sightseeing route to the coast of Candidasa.
WOW...what an awesome website. I could only dream that there would be a website like this for all our travel destinations! You guys have done an fabulous job and now, I am sooo excited about our upcoming trip to Bali. To be honest, I wasn't quite sure Bali was the place for us considering some of the travel warnings (we are Americans). But I can tell from your experiences that the Bali people are so very kind and peaceful.
