Bali Travel Tips
Information before you go
You can find Nomad Restaurant not far from the Ubud market on Jalan Raya. The restaurant looks really inviting, and besides the food, this can be the reason why you have to make reservations for dinner....
It always seems to be busy at this restaurant.
Nomad is named after the dwelling character of the owner Pak Nyoman Sarma. Due to lack of school facilities, he together with his classmates had to move around to get proper eduction.
When he was older he continued travelling around and visited the other islands of Indonesia.
The open
entrance to the restaurant
When Bali had landed on the tourist map, Pak Sarma was intrigued by the travellers and started to create businesses just to be able to have more contact with them.
First as a guide, then in 1979 he opened his first restaurant followed by other businesses such as Ubud Sari Health Resort, Nomad Adventure Rafting, T-House and Divya Boutique.
As you can see, he is a very busy and active man. Nevertheless, you might see him in the restaurant where he still loves to mingle with the travellers and exchange stories.
The
restaurant has an eye-catching contemporary
Balinse design
Not only has his attraction to the travellers given him the opportunity to travel around the world, but it has probably given him the insights on creating a restaurant that until today attracts people who visit Ubud.
The restaurant guarantees that all their food is freshly prepared in order to maintain its highest quality.
Additionally there is no MSG or other additives in the food. And on top of that their salads are made of organic produce and their dressings with extra virgin olive oil.
Well, knowing all this we can only expect something really good...
And it was...
We could choose from many types of Indonesian food and other Asian or Western dishes. We were with the three of us and all of us went for something different.
Having a
great dinner together with my sister
This restaurant in Ubud is really a great place to spend the evening. The whole setting is ideal for a romantic dinner as well. Candle light tables are set along the restaurant verandah which it an ideal place for couples.
However there are also comfortable seating areas where low tables are surrounded by fluffy pillows on which you can sit with your family and friends.
So if you have the time, make reservations and prepare for a wonderful dinner.

When we first tasted the food and drinks at this colorful cafe it was still a small organic restaurant. However it has grown with the increase of popularity for organic food in Ubud.

When I wrote the mail I never really expected a reply. I might have expected a computer generated but never a personally written one. The information you provided is invaluable, thank you so very much. I have been using your website as a bible through Bali. Through your recommendation, I will be heading to Ubud then follow the sightseeing route to the coast of Candidasa.
WOW...what an awesome website. I could only dream that there would be a website like this for all our travel destinations! You guys have done an fabulous job and now, I am sooo excited about our upcoming trip to Bali. To be honest, I wasn't quite sure Bali was the place for us considering some of the travel warnings (we are Americans). But I can tell from your experiences that the Bali people are so very kind and peaceful.
