Information before you go
Puri Mesari Sanur is a cute small scale hotel located in the south of the village. It's a quiet place with a relaxing atmosphere which is typical for any Bali accomodation with just a small number of rooms.
As soon as you enter the reception and walk down the flight of stairs you'll feel immediately at home with a garden full of beautiful tropical flowers, accommodation set around the gorgeous swimming pool and various fish ponds.
One of the nicer small scale hotels in Sanur
The rooms at Puri Mesari are located in two story buildings, all with their own verandah or balcony. Not only are their rooms located around the pool but there are also a few more at the back of this cute place.
The rooms are very spacious and their double super king size bed are really comfortable.
The super king size
The spacious bathroom
The bedrooms and bathrooms have simple traditional Balinese furniture plus there is a minibar, air conditioning, IDD phone, and complementary water is brought to your room daily.
At Puri Mesari they have two types of rooms: the Deluxe and the Superior. The main difference between the two is that the Deluxe has more extras such as an extra seating area or a desk and additional decorations.
We stayed at a superior room on the first floor so from our balcony we had a view over the pool. In the early morning the only sounds we could hear were birds singing and the sounds of running water as the gardener was watering the plants and cleaning around the pool.
A wonderful way to wake up...
Relax on the balcony
Breakfast is included and is served between 7 am till 11 am at the restaurant near the pool. There is a choice of Indonesian and continental breakfast.
We usually need a bigger breakfast and luckily at Puri Mesari you can order other things such as jaffles, pancakes or extra toast at a very reasonable price.
The restaurant can also prepare lunch and dinner for you. So you don't need to leave the hotel at all if you don't want to ;-)
The staff are so friendly and eager to help you with anything. (They are also able to arrange tours and motor bike rentals if you want.)
They also have a small library where you can find a computer with Internet access so if you feel like lazing around the swimming pool (which many guests did) then you can head to the library, borrow a book and grab yourself a sun bed...
This picture is taken early in the morning. That's why it looks a bit rainy ;-)
As mentioned earlier Puri Mesari is located in the south of Sanur. It's around 15 minutes walk to get to the nearest shopping street and restaurants.
Sanur beach is a bit closer, around 5 to 10 minutes walk. Here you can also find restaurants where you can enjoy lunch and dinner with spectacular views at sea.
Rooms located further away from the pool and restaurant
Even though it's not right in the middle of the 'action' in Sanur we love staying here. Besides with 32 degrees Celsius and a humidity of 79% it's better to rent a bicycle or motorbike instead of walking along Jalan Tamblingan.
We really like it when a accommodation in Bali is small scale, where you can recognize the staff, full of Balinese character and where you feel at home away from home.

When I wrote the mail I never really expected a reply. I might have expected a computer generated but never a personally written one. The information you provided is invaluable, thank you so very much. I have been using your website as a bible through Bali. Through your recommendation, I will be heading to Ubud then follow the sightseeing route to the coast of Candidasa.
WOW...what an awesome website. I could only dream that there would be a website like this for all our travel destinations! You guys have done an fabulous job and now, I am sooo excited about our upcoming trip to Bali. To be honest, I wasn't quite sure Bali was the place for us considering some of the travel warnings (we are Americans). But I can tell from your experiences that the Bali people are so very kind and peaceful.
